Using Virama
Virama supports intentional phone-free moments, reflection, and optional app protection. You choose your intentions, when to begin and finish a moment, and which optional features to enable. No Virama account is required.
Virama is a personal habit tool. It does not provide medical care or guarantee a particular improvement in attention, wellbeing, or screen time.
Your app license
The iOS application is licensed under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. That agreement governs the app license. This page explains Virama's service and purchase arrangements and does not replace Apple's Standard EULA or limit mandatory consumer rights. Apple's applicable store terms also govern transactions through the App Store.
Free features and Premium
Unlimited moments, app blocking, Rhythm, notes and photos, the weekly pattern, backups and one ritual are free. Virama Premium adds the features described in the app, such as the Journal, monthly insights, up to eight rituals, scheduled moments and a blocking list for each intention. You don't need a Virama account to buy or use Premium; purchases are tied to your Apple Account.
Premium is offered as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. The price, billing period and any eligible introductory offer are shown before you confirm. Prices and availability may vary by country.
Subscriptions
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the next period within the 24 hours before renewal. You can manage, switch or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account's subscription settings. When you cancel, Premium stays available until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting Virama or resetting its data does not cancel a subscription.
Lifetime
Lifetime is a one-time purchase that unlocks the same Premium as a subscription. It does not renew and has no recurring charge. It stays with the Apple Account that bought it and can be restored on your other devices signed in to that account. Buying Lifetime does not cancel an existing subscription; cancel it separately in your subscription settings.
Restoring and refunds
Use Restore purchases in the app to restore eligible access with the same Apple Account. Purchase access is separate from your moment history: restoring a purchase does not recover your moments; a Virama backup can. Apple handles billing and refunds for App Store purchases. You can request a refund through Apple's purchase support. This does not affect any rights you have under applicable law.
App protection and reminders
App protection requires optional Screen Time permission and operates through Apple's system frameworks. Face-down initiation depends on supported hardware and settings. Notifications depend on permission and device settings. Device state, operating-system behavior, permission changes and Premium availability can affect these features.
An automatic ritual begins a moment at its scheduled time and restricts the apps and websites you selected until it ends or you stop it. The moment is saved to your history for the time it ran; it does not show that you were away from your phone. Virama is not an emergency, safety, or tamper-proof access-control service. Choose restrictions that suit your needs and retain access to essential services.
Your information
Your moments, notes and photos are stored on your device. You choose whether to back them up or share them. Deleting Virama, resetting app data or losing local storage can remove your history, notes, photos, intentions and settings. Restoring a purchase does not recover deleted local data; a Virama backup in your iCloud Drive can. Back up any history you want to keep before deleting the app. Backups and shared copies may remain until you delete them separately. Fair use
Use Virama lawfully and do not attempt to interfere with its operation, compromise its security, or misuse another person's purchase access. These terms do not restrict rights that applicable law gives you.
Updates and availability
We work to keep Virama reliable, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Bugs, device conditions, operating-system changes or service interruptions may affect moment timing, reminders, app protection, purchase access or locally stored records. Keep a backup of any history you want to preserve and contact support if something is not working as expected.
We may update Virama to improve it, fix issues, or meet platform requirements. Features may depend on a supported device and operating system. If a material change affects an existing paid service, we will provide any notice and remedies required by applicable law. Nothing here removes rights associated with a purchase you have already made.
Consumer rights and contact
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. The app license, including applicable legal terms, is covered by Apple's Standard EULA. Contact virama@oolustudio.com if you have a question or problem.
Changes to this page
We will update the effective date when these terms change and provide additional notice where required. Changes will not retroactively remove mandatory rights or remedies.
